Terms of Service — SyncRoom
Terms of Service

Simple rules for a shared space

SyncRoom is built on trust — trust that people will use it to understand each other, not to cause harm. These terms exist to protect that.

What SyncRoom is

SyncRoom is a temporary multilingual chat platform. You open a room, invite people, everyone types in their own language, and AI translates every message in real time so every participant can read it in theirs. When the conversation is done, you can export it and go back to wherever your team normally lives.

We are not a replacement for your primary communication tools. We're the layer you reach for when language is the bottleneck.

"By using SyncRoom, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service."

Who can use SyncRoom

You must be at least 16 years old to create a SyncRoom account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide (name, email address, preferred language) is accurate and belongs to you. You are responsible for keeping your account secure.

SyncRoom accounts are personal. You may not share your account credentials with others or use another person's account without their permission.

Account registration and OTP verification

Creating an account on SyncRoom requires only an email address. We verify your identity using a one-time code sent to that address — there is no password. When you verify your email for the first time, your account is created automatically.

You can join or create a SyncRoom as an unregistered visitor in some flows, but full room access and message history require a verified account.

Creating and joining rooms

When you create a SyncRoom, you become the room owner. As owner, you are responsible for how the room is used and who is invited. You can invite participants by sharing a link or a direct invite.

Rooms are temporary by design. We do not guarantee indefinite storage of room history. After a period of inactivity, room content may be purged. If you need a record of the conversation, export it while the room is active.

Language preferences and translation

Each participant sets a preferred language. Every message sent in the room is translated into each participant's language using AI. You understand and accept that:

Acceptable use

SyncRoom exists for real communication between real people. You agree not to use SyncRoom to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

Your messages and content

You own the messages you send. By using SyncRoom, you grant us a limited license to process your messages — including passing them through our AI translation pipeline — solely to provide the service to you and other room participants.

We do not use your conversation content for advertising, and we do not sell your messages or their translations to third parties.

Exporting conversations

You can export any conversation you participated in, in your preferred language or any other language the room supported. Exported content is yours to use however you need. We ask that you handle any personal information of other participants responsibly and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Third-party AI providers

Translation in SyncRoom is powered by third-party AI language models. By using SyncRoom, you acknowledge that your messages are passed to these providers for translation. We select providers with strong data handling commitments and do not permit them to train on your content.

Service availability

We aim to keep SyncRoom available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Maintenance, unexpected technical issues, or problems with third-party dependencies may cause temporary interruptions. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime or service disruption.

SyncRoom is provided "as is." We do not warrant that the service is error-free, that translations will always be accurate, or that it will meet every specific requirement you have.

Intellectual property

The SyncRoom name, logo, product design, and underlying software are our property. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative products based on SyncRoom without written permission. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SyncRoom is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including losses resulting from inaccurate translations, data loss, or service interruptions. Our total liability in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or zero if you used the free tier.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use SyncRoom after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Account termination

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. On deletion, your profile and message history are removed from our systems within a reasonable period, subject to any legal retention requirements.

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or use the service in a way that creates risk for others.
